The Parent Aide position is a perfect opportunity to bridge social work theory and practical social work experience. And...if you enjoy being around children, this is the job for you!
As a Parent Aide, you will work in conjunction with the Parent Aide Services Program Supervisor and ADCS (Arizona Department of Child Safety) to assure implementation of a spectrum of support services, instruction and assistance to parents/caregivers to improve their skills and ability to fulfill parenting roles and responsibilities. Support services include, but are not limited to, addressing safety threats and risks; parenting skills training, education and training in activities related to home management; arrangement and supervision of visits for children in out-of-home placements; scheduling and providing transportation; attending case staffing and court hearings as requested; and resource referral and access.
This position reports directly to the assigned Parent Aide Services Program Supervisor. Assigned referrals are not always based on where the Parent Aide lives; Primarily they are based on skill set and availability (ie, if the family needs a Sunday and the Parent Aide works Sunday). This position requires days, evenings and weekend availability. It is left up to the Parent Aide to figure out how to manage their schedule and change their schedule around in accommodating each new case they receive.
