6th Grade Literature/Composition and History Teacher
- Students in Literature and Composition are introduced to classic literature, including but not limited to To Kill a Mockingbird, Shane, The Wind in the Willows, Anne of Green Gables, and a variety of short stories. The Lit/Comp course is grammar-intensive with a focus on improving students’ use of grammar in their writing.
- 6th Grade History is the Introduction to the American Tradition. History teachers approach history Socratically, often integrating it with the literature; an emphasis is placed on the understanding of history as a whole entity, as a series of cause and effect relationships.
- Applicants will ideally have at least a B.A. in either English, history, philosophy, and/or liberal arts and solid teaching experience with positive reviews from supervisors/students.
