Job Description

Counselor for Substance Use Disorder Residential Program


Responsible for providing counseling and training to adults with a substance use disorder living in a community residence. Partners with each client on caseload to develop an individualized Service Plan that is timely and based on client-identified goals and objectives. Duties also include support to clients, monitoring the self-administration of medication, record keeping, responding to emergencies, communicating with other treatment providers. Responsible to Program Manager. Program is licensed by NYS OASAS.


Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelors degree in human services related field or CASAC-T required. Candidates interested in pursuing or currently holding CASAC or CASAC-T certifications preferred. Experience working in an adult residential rehabilitation setting serving clients with chemical dependency is preferred. NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of personal vehicle for work required.



Full-time, 35 hours. Schedule may be Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday - Thursday and includes two evening shifts a week as well as one weekend shift a week.
