Job Description

Are you a passionate and innovative Software Engineer looking to ensure the quality of state of the art AI products? Are you eager to make a positive difference in the world? As an Engineer at Shield, you will help us rapidly develop and deploy secure and reliable robotic systems. 

What you'll do:

  • Design software tools for scalable calibration and verification of products in development, manufacturing, and field environments
  • Develop internal products to help maintain our fleet of robots and visualize diagnostic data
  • Work with the Embedded, State Estimation, and Operations teams in developing the roadmap for software manufacturing infrastructure
  • Build out an automation framework
  • Contribute to software deployment strategies
  • Contribute to infrastructure for distributed systems, databasing, and asset management

People we're looking for:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, similar degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • You have working knowledge and hands-on experience with software deployment, networking, and databases.
  • You are interested in learning about production processes and scaling infrastructure.

Other preferred experience:

  • You have hands-on experience with modern software, engineering best practices in algorithms, data structures, and clean code methodologies (Python, C++, Bash)
  • Experience with testing and deploying integrated systems or IoT devices
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause determination of failures
  • Experience working with hardware
  • Must be able to lift, pull and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
