As a Cloud Data Engineer you’ll design and deliver creative solutions on Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services and Azure using core cloud data warehouse tools, Hadoop, Spark, Event Stream platforms, and other big data related technologies. In addition to leading development work, projects will include working with our clients to help define their cloud data strategy.


You will work as part of a team, to design and develop data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms

Collaborate on analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions

Participate in MDM and Governance planning and workshops from the POV of data architecture and flow

Data wrangling of heterogeneous data, exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insights

Actively contribute to the Cloud and Big Data community at Slalom, and drive new capabilities forward

Mentor other team members in their efforts to build data architect skillsets

Assist business development teams with pre-sales activities and RFPs, including helping estimate and plan projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Hands-on development using and migrating data to cloud platforms
  • Experience in relational database design and development
  • Experience in SQL, NoSQL, and/or relational database design and development
  • Experience in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to tackle business problems
  • Passionate about learning new technologies

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of data architecture, business intelligence and/or consulting experience
  • Cloud platform certification(s) (example: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, OR Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA))
