Panasonic Corporation is working to manufacture photovoltaic (PV) modules and cells for solar panels at Tesla’s factory in Buffalo, New York.  

Panasonic's role is to manufacture and supply our SHJ (Silicon Heterojunction) PV cells and modules that feature industry-leading module conversion efficiency and outstanding temperature coefficient characteristics, which result in more power than similarly rated solar panels.

Currently, PESSNY has an immediate opening available for a General Accountant.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Responsible for assisting the team with various reporting requirements, analysis and other assignments related to Financial Accounting activities and responsibilities

Responsible for the following financial activities:

  • Assist with both internal and external audit requirements to ensure J-SOX compliance, including testing, analyzing, documentation, evidence gathering, identifying deficiencies and implementation of remediation/corrective action plans
  • Lead the development, preparation and updating of accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare and complete year-end reporting requirement schedules and other reporting schedules throughout the year as assigned
  • Review all purchase requisitions (SAP and ARIBA) to determine appropriate GL account assignment NYS sales & use taxability
  • Generate and prepare daily and monthly cash flow reports
  • Perform assigned general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as assigned
  • Support and review the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries as needed
  • Complete other specific tasks or ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with other key function areas of the organization as necessary
  • Assist with tasks as needed in the Accounting Department to help with workloads as appropriate and to ensure work is completed timely and accurately.
  • Comply with Environmental Policy, Quality Policy, Safety Policy or other policy, which are enforced by the Company.

What You’ll Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of accounting work experience
  • Experience with SAP system in a manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SOX
  • Familiarity with New York State sales and use tax guidelines
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative and professionalism


  • Proficient in Excel
  • Demonstrates high-level of accountability, responsibility, adaptability and dependability
  • Detail oriented and analytical
  • Ability to work both independently and within a successful team environment
  • Must be flexible and adaptable


  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from both Corporate and the Management team

Other Requirements:

  • The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
