Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine has small animal internships available starting in June 2025. These positions are full-time, clinical positions (faculty rank of visiting instructor) in small animal medicine and surgery. The appointments are for 1 year and successful candidates will serve in an internship role in the Companion Animal Clinic.

The MWU-CVM received full accreditation in September of 2018.
The Companion Animal Clinic is a modern and innovative veterinary hospital for small animals. The 111,000 sq. ft. building contains state-of-the-art surgical, dental, and intensive care facilities. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, fluoroscopy, C-arm, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and arthroscopy equipment. A full-service rehabilitation service is also available for post-surgical patients. In addition to outstanding clinical facilities and equipment, the Companion Animal Clinic houses a pharmacy, a large and well-equipped surgery teaching laboratory, simulated examination rooms for clinical communications training using standardized clients/patients, and ample conference and small-group meeting rooms. A full-service clinical pathology laboratory is present in the building. Adjacent to the Companion Animal Clinic is the Equine and Bovine Center, which houses large animal teaching facilities and small herds of cattle and horses and the Diagnostic Pathology Center, a full-service pathology facility providing postmortem examinations and biopsy services.
