Position Summary:

The Assistant Media Producer will work with the Digital Media Producer in the Center for Learning Technology (CLT) to support the production of video content for PimaOnline master course development. The position will assist the Digital Media Producer on production shoots , aid with the completion of finalized content, and will perform other support duties as assigned.

About the Center for Learning Technology: 

For nearly 20 years, the Center for Learning Technology (CLT) team of Instructional Designers, Instructional Web Designers, Instructional Technologists, and a Digital Media Producer has led the development of innovative online courses and projects across Pima’s six campuses. Under the umbrella of PimaOnline (the educational division for online courses and program development), the CLT staff participates in broader improvement initiatives including the Quality Review of online courses. As part of the CLT, the position of Assistant Media Producer will effectively provide unique and high-quality video content for Pima Community College programs and courses. This position will successfully partner with the CLT’s Instructional Designers and PimaOnline SMEs to support video needs in the current PimaOnline master course development.

This position may require early morning, evening, and/or weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit video subtitles complying with ADA standards
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Support the Digital Media Producer on video production shoots in the studio or on location
  • Collaborate with other college units as assigned
  • Work closely with the Digital Media Producer to create rough-cut and final drafts
  • General upkeep and maintenance of the production studio
  • Practice responsible and timely communication skills for collaboration across all business and functional areas
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in video or media production related field
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of related experience with all phases of media production, including pre production
  • Knowledge of digital technology and digital asset formats
  • Understanding of online video environments and online distribution

Preferred:

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of related experience producing video and other multimedia content for online delivery

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to quickly learn new technical skills and technologies
  • Experience using digital media equipment (audio, video, photography, lightings) and control software
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external groups within a diverse, multicultural, and academic environment
  • Fluency with video hosting services (e.g., Vimeo, Youtube, Panopto)
  • Desire to continuously improve both technical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with creating accurate subtitles or transcripts
