Tax Department Manager - Denver

We are recruiting for an outstanding Tax Department Manager to join a successful, well-established tax accounting firm in Downtown Denver, Colorado. This new team member will be driven, goal-oriented, honest, and punctual. The ideal candidate will also enjoy managing, and more importantly, mentoring a small team of CPAs.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Lead the tax department of the firm and supervise a team of tax preparers
  • Be responsible for department policies, procedures, scheduling, meeting deadlines, etc.
  • Review, prepare and file federal and state tax returns for a broad range of businesses, individuals, and trusts
  • Work with clients to resolve complicated tax issues as well as advise clients on general tax preparation and planning
  • Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling
  • Grow the business by promoting our services and expanding our client base


Here’s what you will need:

  • 10+ years experience in public accounting
  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s and/Master’s degree in public accounting
  • Discretion, keeping clients’ business and personal information strictly confidential
  • Experience using Lacerte Software for preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
  • Experience working with tax clients in the gas/oil industry a plus
  • Experience using CCH ProSystem fx Engagement Software & Salesforce Software a plus
