Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our clients human resources team. This role involves managing payroll systems, calculating wages and deductions, and maintaining accurate payroll records.


  • Payroll Processing: Collect, review, and process payroll data for employees, including hours worked, time off, bonuses, and deductions. Calculate wages, overtime, and other payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Systems Management: Administer and maintain payroll systems, including software platforms or integrated HRIS systems. Ensure accurate recording and processing of payroll data, including employee information and payroll changes.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing. Calculate and withhold payroll taxes, including income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and payments as required.
  • Benefit Administration: Coordinate with HR to administer employee benefits related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and flexible spending accounts. Ensure accurate enrollment, deduction, and reporting of benefits.
  • Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll data with timekeeping records, attendance sheets, or other inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with payroll data.
  • Payroll Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, finance, and other stakeholders as needed. Generate reports for budgeting, forecasting, and analysis purposes. Provide insights and analysis on payroll trends and variances.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations, and other relevant legislation.
  • Customer Service: Provide responsive and accurate support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, issues, or concerns. Address payroll-related questions and provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor's/Associate's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll administration or related HR functions.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems, such as ADP, Paychex, or Workday.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in calculations and data analysis.
