Description

The Prep Technician sorts and prepares Cass utility bills to go to the expeditor for continued processing in preparation to scan documents.

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday and Friday, start time 7:30 a.m.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Accurately sorts all Cass utility clients by payable and multi-family names, currency, and post office boxes.
• Organizes sorted utility mail and separates the clients into groups as per department procedures.
• Utilizes various Microsoft Office applications to open and print utility invoices received via e-mail.  Determines the proper format to ensure invoice entirety and legible printed documents.
• Accesses Cass Intranet to research and determine clients via payable name using various search functions.
• Maintains updated procedures.  Reviews and complies with the new or updated client cross-reference and post office box listings.  Discards old procedures and files updates as received.
• Initiates problem solving by presenting issues and possible solutions to the lead or supervisor.
• Participates in client demonstrations.
• Maintains the work area in order to present a neat and professional appearance.
• Works overtime as required by management to ensure timely completion of all accounts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/ABILITIES AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Ability to grasp and retain instructions and a good memory.
• Good organizational and time management skills to be able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Detail-oriented. 
• Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Work experience found in a production-oriented processing environment.
