SUMMARY
The part-time entry level position consists of supporting the Technical Services Engineer in various requirements of designing cold-formed steel framed structures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Educational experience requires knowledge or certificate or an associate degree in CAD/drafting, and/or currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college. Up to one year of residential and/or light commercial engineering design experience preferred but not required. Knowledge or familiar with Building Code and Standards is helpful.
SKILLS
Language: Effective verbal/written communication is a priority. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals/periodicals. Respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and the public.
Computer: Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD. Experience with other structural analysis/design programs are extremely helpful but not required.
Reasoning: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Other: Organizational and planning skills are a plus.
