The psychiatric nurse practitioner, with an affiliation agreement of a psychiatrist, if needed, provides services within the scope of his/her license/certification and according to the professional standards of his/her discipline. This position will have the responsibility of assessing and providing ongoing medication management and smoking cessation, as needed, to individuals, both children, and adults. Provide psychiatric assessment which would integrate medical information if available, provide treatment, and development, maintenance, and supervision of medication and psychiatric treatment. Studies, diagnoses, formulate treatment program, and directs or treats patients with mental, emotional, substance, and/or behavioral disorders utilizing a variety of therapeutic methods and medications.
Licensed and registered as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State, required. Experience working with people with mental health diagnoses, SED through adult. Knowledge of lifespan psychiatric disorders, trauma informed care, evidence-based treatment, developmental milestones, psychiatric medications and MAT services. Computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, navigate and enter all documentation into electronic medical record.
