**This position is fully remote and candidates must be located in the Denver, CO market.**

Project Manager – Software Engineering The Project Manager – Software Engineering will guide the software team in agile methodologies with a focus on delivering value to internal and external customers while continuously improving processes, procedures, communication, production, and team morale.  This position ensures the team is practicing core agile processes including setting up and leading standups and enforcing individual and product tracking.  Collaborates with the VP of Software Engineering and the product office to negotiate the Product Backlog and provide higher level scheduling. 

  • Manages the agile process for the Software Engineering team; guides and coaches on the usage of agile methodologies.
  • Reports project timelines including delays and resource constraints to management; adjusts schedules and targets as needed and assists with the definition of project scope and goals.
  • Creates short- and long-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources.
  • Performs quality control throughout the project development, maintaining expected standards, and acting as a safeguard for the development team. 
  • Identifies and manages potential risks and liabilities while making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for progression or resolution.
  • Manages special projects as related to the Information Technology department. 
  • Assist with handling communications, training, and process transparency; facilitates team creativity while improving the efficiency of the development process.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and meetings, including sprint grooming and planning sessions.
  • Assists with the maintenance of product backlogs and preparation for upcoming sprints. 
  • Conducts, coordinates, and follows-up on team retrospective meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must have 3-5 years’ experience project management in a Software Engineering or Development capacity; prior supervisory experience is a bonus.
  • Prior experience in project management using Agile methodologies is preferred.
  • Must have proven leadership skills along with the ability to manage a team and delegate tasks effectively. 
  • Ideal candidates will have critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with the ability to make important decisions while under pressure.
  • Must have superb verbal, written, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
