Job Description

We are seeking reliable IT Support technician to join our Information Technology (IT) department.  The ideal candidate will possess strong IT problem solving skills, and knowledge of the practical application of systems and programs to a wide variety of IT contexts. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all computer hardware and software
  • Resolve routine and non-routine problems through standard troubleshooting procedures and recommend and implement solutions
  • Configure and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software
  • Execute projects designed by the Managing Director of Information Technology
  • Provide end–user, routine maintenance, and infrastructure support
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues (wired and wireless)
  • Provide first point of user contact to staff and student (AB)
  • Assist staff and student in use of general operation of computers, smartboard and other devices deployed in throughout the school (AB)
  • Establish and manage the network system at various new sites and desktop computers
  • Rebuild and image computers (hardware and software)
  • Cater to various sites audio visual needs, including testing, setup, and repairs
  • Update, manage and transfer inventory and data at assigned location
  • Stay on call as needed and be courteous and responsive to the needs of sites, no matter the request or time of day
  • Always be ready to be dispatched on troubleshooting calls to sites on various high level and priority issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Associate’s degree with 3 – 4 years of experience, preferred work experience in an educational setting
  • Must have a passion for technology
  • Strong PC and Mac troubleshooting skills
  • Must have strong customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of commonly used IT concepts, best practices, and procedures
  • Familiar with computer hardware, boards, processors, chips, AV equipment, software and applications
  • Understanding of basic Internet applications, including the Web and TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Ability to think critically, quickly, and strategically
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds and pull cart (AB)
