Position: PROGRAM AIDE                                               Salary:       Full Time: 35 hour /week

Neighborhood Self Help by Older Persons Project (SHOPP) is a non-profit social services agency located in the Bronx serving minority older adults. SHOPP's mission is based on the philosophy of self-help. We believe that older people are capable of helping themselves and helping others improve their capacity to deal with the physical, emotional, social, and financial challenges they face as they age.

Services to be Rendered:

The PROGRAM AIDE is responsible for providing support to program staff. Duties include handling telephones, providing Info & Referrals, triage intake calls, prepare reports and maintaining various client related databases. The Program Aide reports directly to the Program Director.

The Program Aide is specifically responsible for the following tasks:

•       Screen calls

•       Triage Intake Calls

•       Assist with registration and enrollment

•       Track program services and prepare reports

•       Assist with coordinating activities of volunteers

•       Maintain various databases, mailing lists and monthly agency program levels of services report

•       Provide Information and Referral to inquiries

•       Maintain inventory of office supplies, complete approved purchased orders, receive and check items purchased upon delivery.

•       Maintain agency equipment (computers, copiers, fax, etc.) inventory, troubleshoot problems and arrange for service and maintenance on timely basis as needed.

•       Assist with program special events: coordination, booking, and transportation arrangements.

•       Participate in SHOPP staff training programs, staff meetings, community meetings and other meetings as assigned.

•       Be available and willing to perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires a High school Diploma or equivalent, computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel, PDS, excellent people skills, knowledge of community resources for Information & Referral.
