ABOUT THE TEAM AND POSITION...

The Next Gen. Communications Platform (NGCP) team is a talented and humble group of people with backgrounds in Product, Design, Data Science and Engineering, that are focused on building out a platform to support all forms of communications between customers, advocates, and Sebastian (our Conversational AI agent). We work on projects that help us grow the supply of vehicles to keep up with rapid demand on the consumer-side, as well systems that help scale the existing business. As a core member of the NGCP team, you will manage mission-critical initiatives from inception to consumer-facing products. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Data Science, Software & Data Engineering, Operations, and Analytics teams to help shape the design, build, and execution of our communications platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES...

  • Drive the technology and product teams to develop technology, requirements, goals and milestones for systems, APIs, and services of our communications platform
  • Work with external stakeholders to develop and evangelize integration, monitoring, debugging, and reporting patterns with our platform
  • Develop and lead cross-functional initiatives, facilitate relationships with product and technology teams across Carvana’s multiple verticals
  • Onboard new teams and business lines on to the communications platform, develop features and product solutions for them to get the most out of our systems, data, and analytics
  • Prioritize and align the product vision with operations, logistics, technology, and machine learning roadmaps and constraints
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, design, data science and other product management teams

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE...

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management experience
  • Experience developing products and features from scratch to production, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and working closely with engineering to deliver on the team’s vision and goals
  • Experience in establishing relationships with multi-disciplinary and distributed teams
  • Ability to learn and absorb technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience
