Job Description

The Information Technology lead will serve as the head of the company’s IT function, reporting to the SVP Technology and Product.

Who We Are

Fund That Flip is an originator of market-leading loans for fix-and-flip, new construction, and rental properties. We also provide a platform for investors to earn passive income by investing in the real estate that we help finance.

Our IT stack is early on the maturity curve, but we have grand plans that we’re looking for a strong candidate to refine and execute against. We primarily use cloud-based services, but also some “on-prem” solutions when necessary. Additionally, we look to tightly coordinate (but not tightly couple) our IT stack with our proprietary app development teams—those teams build and maintain three primary systems: the loan origination and servicing software that powers our lending operation, the investing platform that helps us raise capital, and the payment service that processes millions of dollars in transactions every day.

Who You Are

An ideal member of our technology team is a person that is always learning and striving to improve their craft. As our first dedicated IT resource, you are the type to both exhibit and encourage this kind of behavior.

You are looking for or have worked in an entrepreneurial/startup environment—ideally in one that’s been VC-backed.

While you have your biases, you’re familiar with different technologies and vendored solutions. You understand when it’s appropriate to purchase less-expensive, less-featured applications to make budget available for higher-value projects. You think about your decisions within the broader business context.

You’re a strong communicator, both to technical and non-technical partners across the organization, and both in-person and in distributed meetings. You take ownership of your decisions, systems, and responsibilities.

You like automating things while ensuring they’re documented well enough to fix them when they break. Also, you appreciate that humans also need to work within automated systems and that it’s important to file down any sharp edges.

Responsibilities

This is a big role, but you will have help from vendors, SaaS, and other internal/external resources to help wrangle this scope of responsibility.

  • Own our physical IT assets, including (but not limited to):
    • Equipment Lifecycle management
      • Office equipment
      • User endpoints
    • Security and compliance
      • Patches/updates
      • Adherence to standards frameworks (SOC, ISO, GDPR, etc.)
  • Own access management, including (but not limited to):
    • User access management
    • SaaS Management
    • Vendor Lifecycle Management
    • App development integration
  • Own IT vendor relationships, including (but not limited to):
    • Network resources
    • Office equipment
    • Hardware providers (e.g. Apple, Lenovo, etc.)
  • Own IT Help Desk
    • Establish hybrid in-house + vendor solution
    • Work with SVP Technology to develop operating model
  • Aggressively deploy (documented) automation
  • Maintain a tight relationship with technology leadership
  • Maintain point of view on best practices on IT given market trends
  • With leadership, define and maintain an IT vision/roadmap
  • Ensure systems, procedures, and assets have up-to-date documentation
  • Travel to NYC office as needed (expected 2-4 times a year)

 Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
