Description

Accountemps is looking to bring a long-term temporary-to-full-time Staff Accountant with exceptional organization skills and know-how into a growing organization. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Responsibilities

- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

Requirements

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Be detailed, flexible, and organized

- Ability to meet deadlines

- Command of Accrual Accounting

- Quality experience with journal entries

- Experience with Month-end Close Activities

- Well-founded grasp of general ledger

- Month end closings experience preferred

- Earlier work involving Quickbooks Online

- Wide ranging experience with QuickBooks

- Practical knowledge of account reconciliation

- General familiarity with Inventory Audits

- Strong familiarity with Accrual Accounting

- Proven knowledge of Month-end Journal Entries

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Proficient in ERP systems

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
