 Performs waterborne disease surveillance system tasks. Analyzes waterborne disease data to identify trends and clusters and compares waterborne disease data to other State and Federal surveillance systems.


Participates in case and outbreak investigations for certain enteric diseases and other reportable disease conditions, as assigned.


Conducts, participates, and consults on epidemiologic studies designed to investigate the cause of waterborne cases and clusters, and is responsible for ensuring that South Carolina is an active participant and contributor to the CDC electronic waterborne outbreak reporting systems for SC outbreaks. Collaborates with DHEC, including the Bureau of Water, State and Federal partners on waterborne disease issues.


In collaboration with the Bureau of Water, is responsible for policy and procedure development for the response to waterborne disease cases and outbreak investigations.


Participates in writing applications for grants and progress reports, as assigned. Works on grant and agency metrics by working with the Project Managers and Grant Managers within DADE.


 Performs other duties as assigned.
