Summary of Responsibilities:

Performs assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.  Solid judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work effectively with the Work Group Manager to assure that projects are on schedule and within budget.
• Provide leadership and support to the project teams.
• Update technological and professional skills by continuous and ongoing commitment to training and lifelong learning opportunities.

Essential Duties:

Duties to include the following, other duties may be assigned by the Work Group Manager as required.

• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using sound judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Independently performs most assignments with instructions from the Work Group Manager as to the general results expected.  Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and P.E. approval on proposed solutions for projects.
• May supervise or coordinate the work of other engineers, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
• Other assignments may include the preparation of specifications, process studies, research investigations, and system studies.
• May be responsible for project management in conjunction with design team at the discretion of the Work Group Manager.
• Professional Engineer must oversee all completed work and stamp the final project before it goes out to the client.

Minimum Requirements and Education:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Has excellent working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering field. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Work, Excel, Power Point) some familiarity with drawings, drawing management system and CAD software is a plus. 
• Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to exercise mature and responsible judgment while working under daily stress and work-related pressure. 
• Ability to guide and mentor newer engineers in training them.  
• Ability to collaborate with others to meet deadlines. 
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate information, scheduling and feedback with others while displaying good analytical and diplomatic capabilities when dealing with others.  

Level of Supervision:

Works with Professional Engineer in screening assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work.  Receive minimal to no supervision on new aspects of assignments.  May supervise or coordinate the work of Cad techs and others who assist in specific projects.
