Job Responsibilities
Administers medication treatment and immunizations as prescribed to medically fragile consumers. Monitors health conditions and reports health findings to appropriate staff. Participates on individual's IPP Team. Assists with management of resource allocations to individuals and others, and trains staff on proper infection control procedures. Give immunizations and PPD test to staff as directed by nursing supervisor. Participates in quality development activities. Checks and orders medical supplies. Attends meetings and completes mandatory annual in-service training.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and related experience. Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Extensive knowledge of practical nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safest practices. Ability to work with dually diagnosed individuals and to assist in interventions to advert potentially dangerous situations.
Additional Comments
A $3,000.00 bonus will be issued at the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for Licensed Practical Nurse II (EA15) and Registered Nurse II (EA30) new hires as critical needs in accordance with Section 117.65 of the 2018-2019 Appropriations Act. The bonus will be distributed after one, six and twelve months of successful continuous Full Time employment.
