Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: 

The IT Administrator oversees the administration and maintenance of the company’s IT hardwaresoftware and network. This individual serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters for the operation and respond to tickets and assist clients via remote access or on site and will be tasked with solving complex technical issues as well as collaborating with team members across all departments to provide fast and useful technical assistance. The IT Administrator interacts with internal and external clients, on all levels, to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner. This individual interacts directly with databases and software to troubleshoot problems, identify sources of the problems and offer solutions and involved in the creation of new software and work closely with our team to analyze all aspects of the software and make suggestions throughout the development phase to help avoid issues in the final product. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with SQL databases  
  • Write custom reports, as needed  
  • Document and maintain procedures pertinent to the I.T dept (i.e. Disaster Recovery) 
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications 
  • Set up domain, VPN, Printers, RF Scanner and Office365 accounts for new users  
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot account issues, such as password or login problems 
  • Test, evaluate, and make decisions about new technology  
  • Participate in team meetings to provide relevant insight  
  • Serve as first point of contact for technical assistance via phone or email 
  • Perform remote troubleshooting  
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel 
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on I.T. policies and procedures 
  • Maintain SQL databases by regularly performing optimization tasks   
  • Ensure all issues are properly logged into Sunland’s Ticketing System   
  • Manage open I.T. tickets making sure they are directed to the correct technician  
  • Collaborate with I.T. other team members to assist them where needed 
  • Ensures that company and company assets are maintained responsibly 
  • Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions 
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships 

 KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

  • Certifications are preferred, but not required 
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, and applications. 
  • Analytical skills to study problems and identify solutions. 
  • General familiarity with warehousing/ distribution operations 
  • Team-oriented attitude to help others with technical problems 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills 
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office products and SQL databases 
  • Good understanding of warehouse management systems, such as 3pLink and Foxfire 
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic software related issues 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Proven work experience in a similar role 
  • An ability to stick to strict deadlines 
  • Familiarity with concepts such as Process Improvement  
  • Ability to build vendor relationships  
  • Proficiency in SQL Database Performance Tuning 
  • Ability to train and support users on new updates/enhancements as needed 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

4Year College Degree preferred (computer science or related field of study) or comparable work experience. 3 – 5 years experience in a similar position in a distribution center environment preferred. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 

Ability to travel at the time of startup and implementation of operation. 25% initial - additional travel as Sunland expands nationally 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.  

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
