Unit Description

30 private rooms within the newly built, state of the art T building. The neuroscience nursing team serves patients diagnosed with TIAs, Strokes, seizures, and changes of mental status, in addition to a general medical population. Members of the T2 Neuroscience Team will utilize collaborative communication and teamwork while engaging each other in a unified approach to creating a positive environment, in which our patients and their families will receive high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care from our dedicated team of healthcare professional.

Responsibilities

Job Duties
  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Qualifications

  • Current Pennsylvania RN licensure or TPP required
  • Current BLS Certification
