Under the direction of the Administrative Director and The Technical Manager/Supervisors, performs mammography procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of mammography procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Under the direction of a Qualified Physician and the Operations Manager or designate, and the clinical daily work tasks assigned by Chief Mammograppher, performs mammograms and Dexa scans. Uses sound judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in completing work schedules with highly technical mammography equipment and quality imaging. Under the direction of the Mammography Supervisor, the Administrative Director, and the Department Chairman, the Mammography Technologist employs professional radiological skills to assure quality imaging of all patients mammographic studies, adult through geriatric. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, radiation safety, quality control including all testing and outcomes, knowledge and performance of biopsies and/or aseptic technique for breast procedures, evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtaining additional imaging as needed, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and the adherence to all ACR, MQSA/FDA regulations and guidelines.
