The Certified Pharmacy Technician will be involved with the Medication Distribution, Preparation and delivery pharmaceutical supplies through the hospital. These responsibilities include the preparations of small and large volume parenteral, and chemotherapy.
A Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in his/her professional responsibilities in providing pharmacy services. Working under the direction of a licensed
pharmacist, participates in the preparation, dispensing, distribution and return of patient specific medications including intravenous admixtures, supplies and
maintains automated technology equipment, packages unit of use dosages, maintains and transports pharmaceuticals, and performs tasks associated with
regulatory compliance. Assist with duties related to inventory control of medications and supplies. Documents activities as indicated and performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience preferred including IV compounding
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Required upon hire or within the first 3
months of employment
