The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor I (LCPC I) is a primary therapist to children, adolescents, and families traumatized by abuse, neglect, and exposure to violence. This staff member will complete assessments and develops the diagnosis and treatment plan for the child and family. The incumbent may be involved in training, outreach, and research activities. The LCPC utilizes the information gained by the interdisciplinary evaluation services in the development and implementation of a treatment plan for the child and his/her family.

The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute has been operating for over 35 years and has received national recognition.
EDUCATION:
- Must have a Master’s degree in professional counseling or related field with a minimum of 60 graduate semester credit hours or 90 graduate quarter credit hours OR
A doctoral degree with a minimum of 90 graduate semester credit hours or 135 graduate credit hours. - Must be licensed at the LCPC level by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of licensed clinical experience required.
- Experience with trauma-focused clinical care preferred.
- Experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents with developmental, learning and/or emotional disabilities preferred.
