Post- Doctoral Resident

We are seeking full time, Post-Doctoral Residentsto perform Agency approved individual, group, and family therapy to Outpatient Services and Day Treatment clients. These positions are based in Lake Villa IL. Candidates are responsible for performing individual therapy, group therapy, clinical consultation, and family therapy; ensuring clinical requirements of individual treatment plans are being met. Outpatient/Day Treatment post-docs will also provide supervision of intakes and participate in the staff rotation for on-call coverage. During this period, post-docs are available by phone if clients are in need of crisis intervention after hours and the client’s therapist is not available. Two evenings (1pm-9pm) are required in order to see outpatient clients. The post-doctoral residency program is a 12-month full-time program. The stipend is $40,000 for the year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Completes diagnostic assessments to determine a diagnosis based on DSM criteria and develops treatment goals.
• Performs individual therapy, group therapy, clinical consultation, and family therapy, ensuring clinical requirements of individual treatment plans are being met.
• Participates as part of a Clinical Consultation team with representatives from the treatment team.
• Provides training and supervision of outpatient intake and/or therapeutic mentors as needed.
• Prepares and maintains current and accurate case notes, staffing reports, and therapy reports. Keeps all aspects of clinical files in compliance with Medicaid requirements as applicable.
• Attends and participates in team meetings, case staffings, clinical staffings, discharge planning meetings, treatment plan updates, and other meetings as needed for client care.
• Attends all required individual and group supervisions, seminars and trainings.
• Maintains current and accurate billing, statistics and payment documentation.
• Implements the agency REStArT model and provides consultation and guidance regarding the use of the model.
• Provides general consultation and support to other Agency professional staff.
• Maintains knowledge of current field trends. Attends appropriate training programs.
• Develops working relationships with external and internal referral sources, community support groups, and volunteers; and provides consultation and education to community groups and organizations.
• Maintains an expected level of direct service hours and performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
• One or more years of clinical experience with an emphasis in treatment of children, adolescents, and families.
• In the process of obtaining State Licensure
• Experience in Outpatient Services and/or Day Treatment is preferred.
