The Griffin-Spalding County School System provides grades pre-school to grade 12 that consist of eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools and one special needs facility. The district has more than 637 full-time teachers and approximately 10,600 students. In total, the system employs approximately 1,425 full-time and part-time employees. Ideal candidates are those who hold in high esteem our system values: competency, open communication, loyalty, defined autonomy and respect. In addition, applicants should be highly qualified in needed subject areas to be considered for employment. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer who offers employees the security of a close-team style working environment. New teachers can expect a strong mentor training program that includes one-on-one mentoring as well as professional development geared to meet the specific needs of the mentee teacher.
The district believes strongly in growing leaders and works with our staff, whenever possible, to cultivate and train leaders for various system-level positions. We offer a progressive range of benefits including a medical plan with HRA plan options, voluntary insurance benefits, dental, credit union and more. Interested applicants should go to the district’s website at www.spalding.k12.ga.us and click on the “Human Resources” tab at the top of the web page.
