Acute cardiac- arrest, STEMI, post -cath and EP procedures
Medical cardiac- respiratory failure and other medical diagnoses requiring ICU
Pulmonary Hypertension Unit
Equipment: PA catheter, IABP, Impella, hypothermia, CRRT
CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) – 8 bed unit – nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:1 – again based on acuity – need experienced open-heart nurses or those with strong cardiac - patient population to include:
Cardiac surgery recovery and ICU
CABG, valve repair/replacement, dissection
TAVR, MitraClip
Equipment- as above plus ECMO
MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) – 10 bed unit; nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2 – ideally need nurses with prior critical care/ICU experience – patient population to include:
Respiratory Failure/Arrests
Cardiac Arrests
