National Biosafety & Biocontainment Training Program (NBBTP) /Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship at the NIH. The NBBTP/IRTA Fellowship is designed specifically for life science majors (biology, microbiology, epidemiology, infectious disease, pharmacology, toxicology (or related fields including plant/agriculture and/or veterinary academic backgrounds) OR mechanical engineering/facility management majors interested in operations & management careers in high-containment facilities.
This is an intensive two years, immersive TRAINING experience including traditional lectures, reading assignments, mentoring projects, and travel to off-site conferences and training sessions. NBBTP/IRTA Fellowships are available only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Applications are due August 3, 2020, for Fellowships beginning January 6, 2021.
