CNA

Do you have an inquisitive mindset? Do you thrive on solving abstract problems? Do you want to leverage your skills to make a meaningful difference in the world? Then join CNA and see how you can be the difference!

CNA has been committed to changing people’s lives through our advanced analytical research since 1942, when the U.S. Navy needed our help against German submarine warfare during WWII. CNA is an objective research and analysis organization. We run the Navy’s Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and the Institute for Public Research (IPR). We’ve done research for the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Department of Defense for over 70 years, and, about 20 years ago, we started a domestic research line—IPR. Under IPR, we work on projects for the Department of Justice, the Federal Aviation Administration, and a long list of other agencies and foundations.

At CNA we analyze and solve problems by getting as close as possible to the people, the data – and the problems themselves – in order to find the clear, credible answers government leaders need to choose the best course of action. As a CNA employee, you can see the results of your research implemented in the real world. Whether it's analyzing advanced naval technology and systems, providing high-level military officials with an assessment of mine-sweeping operations and their impact, analyzing past disasters, like Hurricane Harvey, to improve future evacuation procedures, or implementing smart policing across the nation, the research and analysis that our research staff is doing is making a difference.
